Morning Briefing – 6:30 AM
The day starts early at Bee Busters, with our team gathering for the morning briefing. Our specialized equipment is checked and loaded onto the trucks: protective gear, custom smokers, and our bee-safe vacuum systems.
First Call – 8:00 AM
Today’s primary challenge: a massive hive discovered inside the walls of a historic downtown building. These situations require a delicate balance of preservation and protection. The property owner is understandably nervous, but we assure them that our methods prioritize both human safety and bee preservation.
The Removal Process – 10:00 AM
The extraction begins with a thorough inspection. Using thermal imaging technology, we locate the exact position of the colony. The removal process is methodical:
- Careful wall opening to access the hive
- Gentle smoke application to calm the bees
- Systematic removal of honeycomb sections
- Safe collection of the queen and worker bees
Lunch Break – 1:00 PM
During our quick break, we discuss the morning’s success while enjoying lunch far from any bee activity. The conversation naturally drifts to our upcoming spring season preparations.
Afternoon Operation – 2:00 PM
With the bees safely contained in our transport hives, we begin the crucial cleanup phase. Every trace of honeycomb must be removed, and entry points sealed to prevent future colonies from establishing themselves.
Relocation – 4:00 PM
The day’s rescued colony is transported to their new home at a local organic farm where they’ll continue their essential role as pollinators. It’s satisfying knowing we’ve helped maintain the delicate balance between urban development and wildlife preservation.
End of Day – 5:30 PM
Back at headquarters, we clean and maintain our equipment, complete our service reports, and prepare for tomorrow’s calls. Another successful day of protecting both people and pollinators comes to an end.
Working at Bee Busters isn’t just about removal – it’s about being part of the solution to protect these vital insects while ensuring human safety. Every day brings new challenges and rewards, knowing we’re making a difference in both our local ecosystem and community safety.
